βShe is clothed in strength and dignity and she laughs without fear of the futureβ β Proverbs 31:25
Our sweet girl turned T E N just a few weeks ago. Ten! Iβm honestly still trying to wrap my mind around it. It still seems like yesterday that we were at the hospital, filled with excitement and nerves, waiting for her arrival. While my pregnancy with her and much of my labor was every mamaβs dream, her entrance to the world was filled with more emotion as her heart rate had unexpectedly dropped, setting off alarms and causing blur of activity as nurses rushed me to the OR. In what seemed like only minutes later, she was placed on my chest after my c-section and our whole world changed for the better.
This year, for her birthday, all she wanted was to spend as much time with her little group of girlfriends as possible, especially with all the traveling we will be doing this summer. Thatβs why I was so excited when I met Alecia Draper, owner of Moonwood Coffee at an event at the school our kids attend. Moonwood Coffee is not just another coffee company, itβs a family affair, run by Alecia, but both of her sons work alongside her.
βMoonwood Coffee Co. was established in Fullerton, CA with the vision of delivering great coffee, tasty dessert, and an incredible customer experience. Inspired by a vintage feel and a modern coffee visual, weβre here to make your special event into a memorable moment that will last a lifetime.”
Not only does Alecia have the most adorable coffee and dessert cart thatβs perfect for events, she also has a baking and catering background and she does parties too! With the option to gather a group of kids or adults and decorate cookies, cupcakes or 8β³ cakes, Aleciaβs team will come and give you step by step directions to create your own themed dessert. With Katelynβs growing love for cooking and baking, she was so excited to have her friends over for a cake decorating party.
Alecia and her team showed up with everything needed to help the girls each decorate their own mermaid theme cake to take home. They decorated their take home boxes, learned how to mix frosting and put it into piping bags, frost a cake, adding colors and layers. It was so much fun to watch the girls at work. Itβs a lot harder than it looks to decorate a cake.
Alecia was so patient and wonderful with the girls. She taught them new techniques, encouraged them, and turned them all into adorable little cake decorators. This is a mamaβs dream party come true. Besides decorating the table, Moonwood Coffee comes in and does it all, from set up to clean up, and each party guest gets to take home their creation. Itβs win, win for everyone! We will definitely be having them back again in the future!
Look at how amazing the cake turned out!!!!
